FLEXlm timeout issue with VPN

Accessing a floating license (FLEXlm) over VPN can run into problems if the network is slow. To minimize potential issues an environment variable can be set.

On the Start menu (Windows), click Settings > Control Panel.Double-click System.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
Click Environment Variables.
Under System Variables, click New.
In the Variable Name box, enter FLEXLM_TIMEOUT
In the Variable Value box, enter the timeout value as the following: 1000000
Click OK to close each dialog box.
