FLEXlm BORROW

Information on how to implement the new license borrowing functionaility enabled in FME Desktop 2011.

To use the BORROW functionality of FLEXlm, you will need to obtain a new safe.lic license file from Safe which contains the BORROW keyword, and use FLEXlm version 11.8 or later.

Note: BORROW functionality is not supported for use with FME Server or FME Desktop 2010.

Update your license server to FLEXlm version 11.8 (if necessary). It is available for download from: ftp://ftp.safe.com/fme/floatingLicense/SafeFLEXlmInstaller.msi
Restart your license service with the new safe.lic file.
While the client machine is connected to the floating server, you need to run FME Workbench, and click on Tools|License Borrowing.... From here you can check-out or return a license.
