Database License Editions of FME Desktop

Explanation of the databases that are available with the Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server license edition of FME Desktop.

Question

I have an Oracle edition license - does that give me access to Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 or do I need to purchase another license.

Answer

The Oracle edition license allows you to work with Microsoft SQL Server or IBM DB2 database formats. It is not necessary to purchase a SQL Server edition license in addition to your Oracle edition license. See our FME Editions page for a further explanation.

Basically an edition at any level makes the formats at that level available - with all the usual requirements such as the installation of 3rd party libraries.
